Unlock the Healing Power of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Simply spending time with animals is a proven way to reduce stress, improve mood, and increase happiness — and doing therapy with horses provides a unique and effective path to emotional well-being and personal growth.
We are a group of compassionate and experienced therapists and Equine (horse) Specialists who enjoy helping people overcome challenges and achieve lasting change.
Why work with horse vs in an office?
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy brings horses into the therapeutic process. Horses are highly intuitive and responsive animals, and their presence can help promote healing, growth, and self-discovery. The horse's presence can help by providing a safe and non-judgmental space for you to express yourself, connect with your emotions, build or improve relationships and develop coping skills. Horses give real-time feedback, so it is an approach that can have a profound impact over a short period of time.
How does EAP work?
EAP sessions involve a therapist, an equine specialist, one or more horses, and you. The team guides the sessions based on your goals and how comfortable you are with horses. In sessions we will observe the horses and their actions, and other times we will interact more directly with the horses (brushing or playing with toys with them) and use that information based on what you want to work on in sessions. The team will guide you through either a non-directive experience, for example: "how about spending some time out with the horses "? Or come up with more directed activities, such as: "with these objects, build a path and then guide the horse through the path". Either way helps you explore thoughts, feelings and behaviors in a non-threatening way.
